Every time I start a new blog or physical journal, I feel I need to begin with some sort of intro. I spend a lot of time thinking about what is important to include in this first entry and sometimes a couple of hours putting pen to paper or fingers to keys in order to get an accurate portrayal of who I am and what I'm doing and why you should continue reading.
If only you knew how many blogs and journals I've started...
In all honesty though, I thought about skipping that bullshit this time and chugging through an entry of things I have on my mind, but when I go to the pages written by others, I LOOK for some sort of introduction. I want to have an explanation of why they're doing what they're doing or how it all started or who/what they are and why I, being a very busy person indeed, should spend my time reading their words. I don't often find what I want. So to all those out there who are crazy like me and want to look beyond the words of the most recent entries, here's what I've got for ya.
This is my default mental description of self: I'm Brittny. I'm a 25-year old gingery nerd (or nerdy ginger). I have clinical depression, general anxiety disorder, and am a recovering addict. I work retail as I have for most of my working life. I'm in a relationship with a tall guy; I love him like whoah.
Here's some more: I think I'm hilarious. I'm overly honest, I believe. I have little to no social skills. I graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA, 8th in my class and that is still my greatest achievement to date. I've lost track of how many times I've changed my college major or dropped out, only to reapply again.
I'm putting my thoughts on the internet because, as previously stated, I think I'm hilarious. I must also be a genius to have graduated high school with such a high GPA, right? Not to mention, I'm a hot mess and have been working hard to grow and change. I enjoy writing, I love the thoughts of others, and I love the idea that maybe-- just maybe-- one person out there in the World Wide Web will read something I've written and it will help them in some tiny way. This fulfills my self-obsession, love of writing, and need to help others. (You're welcome.)
That's a good enough introduction for now. I will attempt to write regularly and for the next couple of days/weeks, get everything built up and pretty lookin'. If I have succeeded in enabling comments, leave a note telling me what your favorite animal is.
Peace Out
